Best bet: Introduction to coffee roasting

Though wineries normally get busier as the weather gets warmer, Thousand Oaks Winery in Marble Hill, Mo., isn't waiting for summertime to invite guests out. They also aren't depending on the wine to attract them. Thousand Oaks will hold an "Introduction to Coffee Roasting" seminar from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday as part of Southeast Missouri State University's continuing education program.

Students will learn about roasters, grinders and coffee makers as well as the history of coffee roasting and the different coffee growing regions. Thousand Oaks will also provide lunch for the group.
