The Chaffee Elks Club will host the annual festival in Frisco Park to celebrate the region's German heritage. It features carnival rides, softball games, a dunking booth, horseshoe and washer contests, a talent show, music and dances. Food includes bratwursts, German potato salad, fried chicken, lemon shake-ups and barbecue. Today's festivities start with a catfish dinner at 4:30 p.m., followed by a pageant and music and dance. Saturday's festivities start with an eight-team wooden-bat softball tournament at 9:30 a.m. Also, a greased-pole contest will be held all day -- until the money's gone.
