The spring series of Old Town Cape's Tunes at Twilight starts at 7 p.m. May 16 with Bat Bennett and continues on Friday nights through mid-September except July and early August, according to an Old Town Cape news release.
Bennett is a singer-songwriter who has been playing guitar since age 9 and has toured all over the Southwest with various bands. Today, he performs at American Legion posts throughout the country as well as Elks Clubs, hotels and nightclubs.
The Tunes at Twilight concert series takes place at the Common Pleas Courthouse gazebo near Lorimier Street and Broadway in Cape Girardeau. Families are welcome to welcome to bring their own seating for the free hourlong concert.
While Old Town Cape and volunteers plan and organize the series every year, the premier event sponsor is SoutheastHEALTH. Additional sponsors are Cape Air and FOX 23 KBSI and grant assistance is provided through the Missouri Arts Council.

"A lot of the artists are returning to Tunes at Twilight as fan favorites, and we've got a couple new, very talented musicians as well that are sure to impress," Casey Zimmerman, booking manager, said in the release.
In case of rain, an indoor location will be announced on the Old Town Cape website no later than 4 p.m. the day of the event.
