POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. — The country will rock tonight when Poplar Bluff welcomes Cross Canadian Ragweed, Reckless Kelly and local band The John D. Hale Band for Clear 94's Muddy Water Jam at the Black River Coliseum.
Cross Canadian Ragweed heads the lineup. They're alt-country, Southern rock, country rock. Whatever combination of "rock" and "country" you use to describe the Red Dirt heroes from Texas, it's a rocking show.
Reckless Kelly's new album "Bulletproof" hits shelves June 24. With six previous CDs, Reckless Kelly isn't just a flash in the pan. The band is based in Austin, Texas, but travels well and brings the party.
The John D. Hale Band represents the local scene. The Jackson-based Southern rock group plays fast-paced, sarcastic and gritty country that demands your attention. They are a throwback to the days of Haggard and Hank but are smart enough to keep modern twists on old alt-country.
Doors open at 6 p.m. and the music starts at 7 today. Get tickets at the Black River Coliseum Box Office, by phone at 866-646-8849 on online at www.ticketmaster.com.
The show is general admission, with floor seats for $23 and main level seats for $18.
