As part of the Cape Girardeau River Heritage Days, Gregory Wolk will deliver a Civil War presentation at 2 p.m. Sunday at Crisp Museum at the River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau. Attendees will be able to learn about Missouri's role in the Civil War.
"The Wanderlust Matrix: A Long-Distance Relationship," a themed lithography portfolio curated by Southeast Missouri State University alumna Candice Corgan, will be displayed from Oct. 10 through Nov. 4 in the River Campus Art Gallery, 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau. The exhibit will include the work of 20 artists, all printed by Corgan during her time completing the master printer program at the Tamarind Institute in New Mexico.
The Southeast Missouri State University symphony will present its gala season opener with special guest David Halen at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 11 in the Bedell Performance Hall at the River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau. Halen will perform the violin solos from Tchaikovsky's "Swan Lake" and "Sleeping Beauty" ballets with the orchestra. The Shanghai Acrobats, an acrobatic troupe from the People's Republic of China, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 12 in the Bedell Performance Hall at the River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau. The group was founded in 1959 and has earned several awards at acrobatic and circus competitions around the world.
