Bill Brennan of Marble Hill, Mo., won this year's contest with his photo of a prothonotary warbler titled "Swamp Candle." Alternate best in show award was given to a landscape titled "Early Morning Forest" by Mark Pelton of Poplar Bluff, Mo. This annual contest exhibit will begin its journey around Missouri with a monthlong showing at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center during October. In November it will be at the Sikeston Depot Museum in Sikeston, Mo., and in July it will return to Mingo National Wildlife Refuge.
