Catapult Creative House, 612 Broadway in Cape Girardeau, which had its soft opening in May, will hold a variety of events during Southeast Missouri State University's Family Weekend from 5 to 9 p.m. today. Activities during the student open house will include a letterpress demo and sale, woodblock photography, 3-D printing, Pictionary, embroidery, music and a beverage bar with savory menu sampling.
Catapult Creative House, 612 Broadway, is accepting registrations for a beginner's letterpress workshop to be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday. Cost of the workshop is $45. Instructors will be Adrienne Miller and Brad Vetter, who are visiting Catapult for Southeast Missouri State University's Family Weekend. The Glenn House, 325 S. Spanish St. in Cape Girardeau, will host plein-air artists from 1 to 4 p.m. Oct. 3 and 4. Artists are invited to display their art in small tents and under umbrellas on the grounds and pay no commission on sales. Setup will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Oct. 3. In addition to the outdoor booths, participating artists may exhibit two pieces of artwork in the main house, but they must provide their own easels for this display. Applications must be received by Sept. 28; forms are available at the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, 32 N. Main St. in Cape Girardeau or at the Glenn House.
