Andino to perform at Three Rivers

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Concert pianist Rosario Andino will give a special concert at 7 p.m. Sept. 9 at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center stage at Poplar Bluff's Three Rivers Community College. The program will include selections from master composers Beethoven, Robert Schumann, Chopin and Liszt. Andino is a native of Cuba currently living in Springfield, Mo.

Line dance classes offered in Cape Girardeau

Line dance classes will be offered every Monday in September starting Sept. 11 at the Silver Saddles Country and Western Club, located at 330 S. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau. The classes are offered by Country Club Line Dancing Club and take place at 7 p.m.

Cedarhurst festival coming Sept. 8 and 9

Mount VERNON, Ill. -- The 30th annual Cedarhurst Craft Fair will be held Sept. 8 and 9 at the Cedarhurst Center for the Arts in Mount Vernon. The festival will include crafts from more than 100 people in glass, jewelry, metal, fiber, wood, children's toys, bonsai, leather, photography and watercolor. Big Oak Tree to hold Living History Day

EAST PRAIRIE, Mo. -- Big Oak Tree State Park in East Prairie will hold a Living History Day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 9. The event will feature demonstrations of hide tanning, wool spinning, woodcarving and trapping, along with gospel and bluegrass music, fried catfish and barbecue. Poplar Bluff plays host to St. Louis artist

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- St. Louis area sculptor and art professor Arny Nadler will be featured at the Tinnin Fine Arts Gallery on the campus of Three Rivers Community College starting today and running through Sept. 29. An artist's reception will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sept. 8. Nadler is an associate professor of Washington University's School of Art in St. Louis. For more information, call (573) 840-9739.

Kennett fair taking submissions from artists, photographers

KENNETT, Mo. -- The Delta Fair in Kennett is taking submissions for art and photography contests for the fair's Sept. 26-30 dates. Artists and photographers living within a 100-mile radius of Kennett are invited to participate, and prices will be awarded for first, second and third place in several categories. Trails workshops to be held at Rend Lake

REND LAKE, Ill. -- The Illinois Greenways and Trails Council will hold two workshops in September for local communities interested in planning and developing greenways and trails. One workshop will be held Sept. 15 at Rend Lake. The workshop will include presentations by trails and greenways professionals on all aspects of trails planning and development.
