Dr. Jack Zibluk's exhibit, "Four Seasons in Southeast Missouri," will be available for viewing during normal business hours throughout August at the Cape Girardeau Conservation Nature Center, 2289 County Park Drive in Cape Girardeau. Zibluk's work features scenes from walking the nature trails and state parks in Southeast Missouri. The gallery is free and open to the public.
Student artwork from Southeast Missouri State University's Art Academy (except Children's Ceramics and Young Potters), ArtReach and Painting with the Elderly workshops will be on display from Sunday through Aug. 27 at the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, 16B N. Spanish St. in Cape Girardeau.
The annual Sikeston Jaycee Bootheel Rodeo will run from Wednesday through Saturday, Aug. 10 to 13, at the rodeo grounds, 1220 N. Ingram Road in Sikeston, Missouri. Rodeo events will begin each evening at 6 p.m., with a concert featuring Chase Rice scheduled for Wednesday, a concert featuring Granger Smith on Thursday, a concert featuring Dwight Yoakam on Aug. 12 and a concert featuring Frankie Ballard on Aug. 13. Tickets for each concert range from $20 to $30. A free "Behind-the-Chutes" tour will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the rodeo ticket office and will give attendees a chance to meet the rodeo clowns, cowboys, announcers, Dale Brisby and more. Acting Out! will present its final performance of 2016, "The Complete Works of Shakespeare (Abridged) [Revised]," at 7 p.m. Aug 12 and 13 at the Osage Centre, 1625 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau. Actors will present condensed versions of all 37 Shakespeare plays in 97 minutes. Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 at the door.
