First Friday opening will feature feather wreaths

A First Friday opening will be held today at The Artist Studio, 38A N. Main St., from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The exhibit will feature wreaths made of natural feathers in original designs created by studio owner Judy Barks-Westrich. SEMO Acoustic Musicians Guild to meet Wednesday

The SEMO Acoustic Musicians Guild, an open forum to bring together acoustic musicians, singers and songwriters, will meet Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room at the Cape Girardeau Public Library. Underberg House, Tunes at Twilight star Kraig Kenning

Chicago-based musician and slide guitar wizard Kraig Kenning will play two dates in Cape Girardeau, appearing Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Underberg House Concert and Aug. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at the Common Pleas Courthouse Gazebo for Tunes at Twilight. Wickliffe Mounds will present pottery workshop

WICKLIFFE, Ky. -- The techniques of prehistoric potters will be taught during two classes scheduled at 10 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site. Bluegrass doubleheader to play at Wappapello Lake

WAPPAPELLO, Mo. -- The Lake Wappapello Outdoor Theatre will field its usual two-night concert lineup today and Saturday, featuring Poplar Bluff, Mo., musician Alex Riffle and his band today and Tennessee bluegrass group Jordan's Angels on Saturday.
