Bess book lecture to be held in Sikeston

SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Albritton-Mayer Center in Sikeston will hold a book signing and lecture for "Gene Bess: College Basketball's Winningest Coach," at 7 p.m. Monday. The event will include famed Three Rivers Community College basketball coach Bess and authors N.H. Roberts and C.A. Richardson. River City Players hold more musical auditions

Regional museum holds ice cream social

The Southeast Missouri Regional Museum on the campus of Southeast Missouri State University will hold a reception and ice cream social from 3 to 5 p.m. today to coincide with its current exhibit "The Last Steam Railroad in America: Railroad Photographs of O. Southeast Choral Union starts Sept. 5

The Southeast Missouri State University Choral Union will begin meeting Tuesdays from 7 to 9 p.m. starting Sept. 5 in Brandt Music Hall. Regional Idolsearch competition Saturday

PADUCAH, Ky. -- Locals have a chance to earn a guaranteed American Idol audition Saturday by winning the Regional Idolsearch competition, being held at 11 a.m. at Kentucky Oaks Mall in Paducah.
