The youth at Mount Auburn Christian Church will give a free performance of "Cinderella," featuring music and choreography, from 1 and 6 p.m. today at the church. The public is invited. The production is sponsored by Keyboards and Kindermusik.

Arts council looking for citizen volunteers

ST. LOUIS -- The Missouri Arts Council is seeking Missouri residents to volunteer to serve on the advisory panels that will evaluate grant applications in fiscal year 2007. Every year more than 60 volunteers evaluate grant applications, provide guidance to staff and assist MAC with policy and program development. There are a limited number of panel vacancies. Arts council seeks nominations for awards

ST. LOUIS -- The Missouri Arts Council is currently seeking nominations for the Missouri Arts Awards, to be presented Feb. 8 in Jefferson City. Nominees must be current Missouri residents or Missouri-based organizations. Awards are given in five categories: arts education, arts organization, individual artist, leadership in the arts and philanthropy. Nominations must be postmarked by Sept. 12. Gary Lucy to exhibit at Aug. 5 opening reception

The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will present a First Friday opening reception on Aug. 5 with artist Gary Lucy from 5 to 8 p.m. at 32 N. Main St. Lucy is an internationally known historical painter from Missouri who has been commissioned to paint the mural for the River Campus. For more information, call 334-9233.

Garden Gallery to feature mosaics by Herrell

A First Friday opening reception will be held Aug. 5 from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Garden Gallery, at the corner of Broadway and Pacific Street above Grace Cafe. The featured art will be mosaics in the theme "Seven Days of Creation" by Juanita Herrell. Prints will be for sale and all profits go to charity. For more information, call 332-7123.

First Friday sets opening reception at Gallery 1.2.5

A First Friday opening reception will be held Aug. 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Gallery 1.2.5, 125 Main St. in Cape Girardeau. The gallery displays a collec- tion of oils, prints and accessories.

River's edge Pottery Guild to display in Grace Cafe

The River's Edge Pottery Guild will participate in First Friday events with a display in Grace Cafe, Broadway and Pacific Street, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 5.
