'Idol' top-12 finalist sings at Cape First

Lacey Brown will perform at 5 p.m. Sunday at Cape First Church, 254 S. Silver Springs Road. Brown, a native of Amarillo, Texas, was an "American Idol" top 12 finalist during season nine. The church worship team's praise band will open the free performance. The auditorium seats 800, and seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Music Discovery for grades five to 12

Saxony Lutheran High School will host Trinity Lutheran Church's Music Discovery from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Students will participate in arts and crafts, sessions with percussion instruments and find music in nature. The event is free to students in fifth through 12th grades. Lunch will be provided. There program is limited to the first 100 registrants. No musical ability is required. For more information, call 335-8224.

Theater celebrates Elvis' 75th birthday

AMC Town Plaza 5 will show "Elvis on Tour: The 75th Anniversary Celebration" at 7 p.m. July 29. The movie will be broadcast to more than 460 theaters nationwide and nine theaters in Missouri. The two-hour movie will highlight the King of Rock 'n' Roll's 1972 multicity tour and showcase never-before-seen footage. For more information, call 335-4388.
