Community theater kicks off new season

STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. — ColeBeanBay Theatre Company starts its sophomore year in operation June 19, with "Caberet." The company performs in the Orris Theatre at 265 Merchant St. in downtown Ste. Genevieve. The musical will run through July 6 with performances Thursday to Sunday. Tickets are available at www.ColeBeanBay.com or at the Orris Theatre. They cost $18 in advance or $20 at the door. Public Radio plans new programming

Southeast Public Radio will begin airing "Discoveries at Disney Hall," a 10-part series of concert specials recorded live at Disney Hall in Los Angeles. "Discoveries at Disney Hall" will air at 9.m. Sunday beginning June 8 and will be repeated at 7 p.m. Wednesday beginning June 11. Each show features a different musician, from singer-songwriters to classical, world music and Broadway stars with interviews weaved through in the songs. The show highlights artists like Neko Case from The New Pornographers, and Burt Bacharach with his legendary "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head" and "What the World Needs Now is Love."
