Watercolors shown in Poplar Bluff

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. -- Talitha Horn will be exhibiting her watercolor paintings Saturday to June 27 at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum in Poplar Bluff. Horn majored in art at the University of Missouri and became a glassblower in Wyoming before moving to the Caribbean island of St. Lucia. Her colorful watercolors are inspired by the culture and people of the island. The opening reception will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the Margaret Harwell Art Museum, 421 N. Main St.

Museum unveils book on Sikeston

SIKESTON, Mo. -- "Through the Years ... A Pictorial History of Sikeston, MO" will be exhibited at the Sikeston Depot Museum. The book provides hundreds of captioned photos with a foreword before each section written by Sikeston residents. The 152-page book will be sold for $35. The unveiling reception will be from 5 to 8 p.m. June 25 at the Sikeston Depot Museum, 116 W. Malone Ave.

Special exhibits at Depot Museum

SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Sikeston Depot Museum hosts two exhibits this month. Oran, Mo., artist Cleda Curtis-Neal will be showing her portrait oil paintings and the first showing of "Irises." Also on display in June, a history exhibit about American Indian costuming, on loan from the St. Louis Science Center, features ceremonial costumes and shows the diversity of American Indian tribes. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday.
