Two Southeast professors to perform

Christopher Goeke and Brandon Christensen will perform at the Southern Illinois Music Festival on Tuesday, Wednesday, June 10 and 11 at the Marion (Illinois) Cultural and Civic Center, 800 Tower Square Plaza in Marion. They will be performing in Rossini's final opera, "William Tell," sung in French with projected English supertitles.

Goeke will perform the role of Rodolphe, one of the show's villains, and Christensen will perform in the festival's orchestra.

Rock in the Rock Garden planned

Doug Rees will perform for Rock in the Rock Garden at 7:30 p.m. June 10 at Jackson City Park, 800 Stoneyledge Drive in Jackson. Admission is free and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, refreshments and snacks to enjoy an evening in the park.
