Flintknappers Day at Wickliffe Mounds
WICKLIFFE, Ky. -- Flintknappers Day will be held Saturday at Wickliffe Mounds Research Center.
The event is for people interested in learning the craft or watching it performed. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The center is located on highways 51/60/62 in Wickliffe.
New quilt exhibits open at MAQS
PADUCAH, Ky. -- Two new quilt exhibits, "American Pride" and "Piece Be Still," open Saturday at the Museum of the American Quilter's Society.
"American Pride" includes 18 contemporary and antique quilts reflecting the spirit of America.
"Piece Be Still" is a Scripture-inspired exhibit by Phyllis Stephens of Atlanta, Ga.
Exhibit focuses on Illinois soldiers
MURPHYSBORO, Ill. -- "Illinois in the Spanish-American War," an exhibit offering glimpses into the lives of troops serving in Cuba and the Philippines, is open through August at the Logan Museum in Murphysboro.
John A. Logan Jr., son of the Civil War general, was killed in the Philippines during the war.
The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday 1 to 4 p.m. at 1613 Edith St.
