Peace and Justice kicks off June with house concert

The SEMO Coalition for Peace and Justice will kick off the month with a performance by Riot Folk members Adhamh Roland and Brenna Sahatjian at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at 228 Merriwether St., Apt. 4. Roland and Sahatjian are both members of the Riot Folk music collective, a group of radical folk artists specializing in social and political activism. Marble Hill woman publishes book

Oran holds 11th annual car show Saturday

ORAN, Mo. -- Oran will hold the 11th annual Oran Car Show on Saturday at the Tilles Memorial City Park on Greer Street. The show is billed as one of the area's largest and is sponsored by the Oran Chamber of Commerce along with Stockade Buildings and the Animal Nutrition Center. River City Players hold auditions for Lorimier play

The River City Players Community Theatre group will hold auditions at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Port Cape Girardeau for its upcoming bicentennial production "Young Louis Lorimier" by Dr. Roseanna Whitlow. Bicentennial book discussion Tuesday

Family fun day at Wickliffe Mounds set for June 10

WICKLIFFE, Ky. -- Wickliffe Mounds State Historic Site in Wickliffe will hold its annual Family Fun Day on June 10 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is an educational opportunity designed for children to learn about the science of archaeology through simulated digs and to learn about American Indian culture through trail hikes and demonstrations.
