Musicians perform letters from the road

Peter Karp and Sue Foley will perform their show "He Said She Said" in both Jackson and Cape Girardeau over the weekend. This new duo is touring in support of its CD, "He Said She Said," which has been No. 1 on the blues charts for the past month. The show includes songs by both artists inspired by letters they sent back and forth to each other about life on the road as a musician. They will perform at 8 p.m. Saturday at Stooges in Jackson for a $5 cover. The duo will play at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Underberg House for $10.

*** Museum offers summer exhibits

On Saturday the Cape River Heritage Museum will host Chief Paul White Eagle for the presentation "Women's Role in Native American Family Life." The discussion, started during the spring season, was so popular the museum decided to present it several times this summer. Audience members interact in the discussions and see various artifacts from American Indian history. Chief Paul White Eagle's discussion will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Other summer exhibits at the Cape River Heritage Museum include Steamboat Photographs, The Nuns of Saint Francis Hospital, Fashion and Education and 1936 Sharecropper's Demonstrations. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Tickets are $2 for adults and $1 for children.
