In June, the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will host the Regional Art Educator's Exhibit. The show will be on display until June 27. Art educators from Southeast Missouri who create fine arts and crafts are invited to enter one work. The show will not be juried, but pieces are required to adhere to the guidelines in a prospectus available at the Arts Council and on the Arts Council's website. The show is free to enter for all art educators residing in the region. Two-dimensional work must be wired for hanging, and three-dimensional work must not exceed 36 inches in any direction. Artists must provide a pedestal for three-dimensional works. Jewelry must be in a case or a glass box. Artists may deliver work to the Arts Council gallery at 32 N. Main St. in Cape Girardeau from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The Regional Art Educator's Exhibit will open June 6, with a reception at the Arts Council from 5 to 9 p.m. The reception and exhibit are free to the public. River Campus offers vocal boot camp
The second annual Vocal Arts Boot Camp will be hosted by Southeast Missouri State University's Department of Music from June 16 to 21 at the River Campus. It offers a training opportunity for vocal students in grades seven to 12, focusing on performing skills for high school choral and solo contests. The camp offers residential packages of $475 that include housing, meals and activities. Commuter packages of $325 include lunch, dinner and all activities. Participants can to attend a performance of "Nunsense" as part of the Summer Arts Festival. They will conclude the camp with a free performance at 11 a.m. June 21 at the Shuck Music Recital Hall.
