SEMO District Fair announces entertainment
Country stars Montgomery Gentry, a Honky Tonk Tailgate Party that includes Rhett Akins, Daryle Singletary and Wade Hayes, and the Southern rock band .38 Special will headline the entertainment at the SEMO District Fair in September.
The fair will run from Sept. 7 through 14.
Montgomery Gentry will play on Thursday night. The duo is known for the hits "Cold One Comin' On" and "Hillbilly Shoes."
On Friday night it's the Honky Tonk Tailgate Party featuring three singers who all have had country hits.
.38 Special closes out the fair entertainment on Saturday night. The band's hits include "Hold on Loosely," "Rockin' Into the Night" and "Caught up in You."
Antique vehicles due in Cape Girardeau
About 120 antique vehicles from more than 20 states are scheduled to parade through Cape Girardeau at 2 p.m. Sunday.
The vehicles from the Veteran Motor Car Club of America will range from a 1912 Buick to newer vintages.
The vehicles will leave the Drury Lodge on Percy Drive and continue to Route K and William Street, on to Kingshighway and Broadway to Main and Water Street for a block party and display.
Jackson Arts Council to meet Monday
JACKSON, Mo. -- The Jackson Area Arts Council will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the Book Bug, 127 W. Main St.
Anyone interested in the arts is invited to attend.
