Theater department names award winners
Awards were presented Saturday at the Southeast Missouri State University Department of Theatre and Dance annual end-of-the-year banquet. The banquet celebrates the conclusion of the 2003-2004 season. The Outstanding Contribution-Acting award went to Daniel Boughton; Outstanding Contribution-Dance to Katherine Stricker; and the Outstanding Contribution-Design/ Technology to Alex Seiler. The Unsung Hero award was presented to Stephen Fister. Katherine Stricker earned the Academic Achievement award; Sarah Moore received the Judy Award. Also, Meagan Edmunds and Christy Beckham received acting nominations from the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival for their work in "Rapunzel."
Theater announces its new season lineup
The Theatre and Dance Department at Southeast Missouri State University recently announced its new season lineup.
Oct. 1, 2, 6 and 10: "The Diary of Anne Frank," adapted for the stage by Albert Hackett and directed by Dennis C. Seyer.
Oct. 29: The Paul Taylor 2 Dance Concert, in conjunction with Dance St. Louis.
Nov. 18 to 20: Transitions Fall Dance Concert.
Feb. 23 to 27, 2005: "Picasso at the Lapin Agile," a comedy by Steve Martin.
April 5 through 10, 2005: "Guys & Dolls," by Frank Loesser and Abe Burrows, directed by Kenn Stilson, choreography by Leslie Miller and music direction by Chris Goeke, in conjunction with the Department of Music.
April 20, 2005: "Coyote Tales," a children's play presented by the Dallas Children's Theatre.
