Art competition open to area students The 23rd annual Missouri 8th Congressional District Art Competition has opened registration to area students in grades nine to 12. Judging will be May 1 at the Federal Courthouse in Cape Girardeau. A First Friday reception with the art will be held at the Black Door Gallery. Tickets for annual wine benefit available

Tickets for the eighth annual Community Benefit Wine Festival hosted by the Community Counseling Center Foundation are available at Community Counseling Center locations, US Bank and Capaha Bank. The benefit features wine, music and hors d'oeuvres and benefits the counseling center's programs and services. Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door.
