Dinner theater performances at Cape Christian School

The seventh-grade students at Cape Christian School will present a dinner theater performance Thursday of "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown." The show will be held at First Baptist Cape, with dinner at 6:30 p.m. and show at 7 p.m. All money raised will go to fund a trip to Washington, D.C., next year. For tickets, call Cape Christian Schools at 335-8333. Corporate sponsors Chick-Fil-A, Fazoli's and Schnucks have assisted with the event.

Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra closes season April 19

CARBONDALE, Ill. -- The Southern Illinois Symphony Orchestra will present its final concert of the 2004-2005 season April 19 at 7:30 p.m. at the Shryock Auditorium in Carbondale. The program, titled "Stars of Altgeld," will be directed by distinguished Australian conductor Michael Goodwin and will feature numbers from a variety of well-known composers. The 2005 semi-annual Community Counseling Center Foundation Antique and Collectible Show will return this Sunday at the Arena Building from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with an early bird presale from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. All proceeds go to benefit the Community Counseling Center Foundation. Community Counseling Center to hold wine festival

On April 15 the Community Counseling Center Foundation will hold its fourth annual Community Benefit Wine Festival from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Deerfield Lodge in Cape Girardeau. Ten Missouri wineries will be on hand. The admission fee includes a wine glass, wine samples, hors d'oeuvres, live music by Saxy Jazz, valet parking and hourly drawings for prizes. 'Cantus Choralis' to perform Thursday

Julie Walker will perform Saturday at the acoustic open mic at Sidewalk Sandwich Co. downtown.
