Ste. Genevieve art show benefits teen

STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo. -- The Merchant Street gallery in Ste. Genevieve will hold an art show and benefit from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, coinciding with the city's Fourth Friday Art Walk. Artist Ali Cavanaugh is donating an original painting to benefit 17-year-old Milly Naeger, who is fighting cancer. Cavanaugh has painted 15 pieces for the collection entitled "Brilliance in the lost moment of hesitation -- the milly paintings."

Cape West 14 Cine will show two movies to benefit not-for-profit organizations in the area. "Marley & Me" will be shown at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Admission is $6 and proceeds go to the March of Dimes. On April 30, "Madagascar 2" will be shown at 6 p.m. Admission is $6 and the proceeds will go to Missouri Mentoring Partnership.

Annual Sikeston children's play auditions

The Sikeston Little Theatre will hold auditions for "The Best Little Theatre in Town" open to 3rd to 6th grade students and presented June 25 to 28. Tryouts will be at 6 p.m. today and 2 p.m. Saturday at the Albritton-Mayer Center, 506 South Kingshighway, Sikeston, Mo. Singing and non-singing parts are available.
