Live CD recording in Jackson

The Melroys will return to Jackson to record a live CD this month. The rockabilly band that originated in the Cape Girardeau area and moved to St. Louis will play two nights at Stooges in Jackson to get material for its first live CD to add to their two studio CDs. The band will be onstage March 20 and 21.

Almost Idols hold concert in Marion, Ill.

The "American Idol Stars in Concert: Spring Break" will make a stop at the Marion Cultural and Civic Center in Marion, Ill. Melinda Doolittle, Phil Stacey, Gina Glocksen and Chikezie, top 10 finalists from seasons six and seven, join forces to show America they can rock without Simon. Concert starts at 7:30 p.m. March 30.
