The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will hold the season's first Red Light Night at 7 p.m. March 23 at 16 N. Spanish St. in Cape Girardeau. The topic will be "Break the Binary" featuring Rane Belling and will explore society's mislabeling of gender identity. Rane Belling will perform a spoken-word piece highlighting their struggles. Red Light Night is a series of after-hours discussions on controversial or taboo topics in the arts. Please note, topics are intended for a mature audience. The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will host Flights of Fantasy, its annual juried exhibit, from June through July. Artists should incorporate science fiction, fantasy and the surreal in their works. The exhibition welcomes original artwork of all media from artists across the United States.
