Faculty of Southeast Missouri State University's School of Performing Arts and guest artists will hold a chamber music concert at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Shuck Music Recital Hall on the River Campus. The guitar and oboe duo Double Fret will premiere new holiday arrangements. Double Fret is oboist Laura Ross and guitarist Patrick Rafferty, both on the music faculty at Southeast. Double Fret performs virtuosic arrangements of popular music. Tickets are $10 and can be bought from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays at the River Campus box office in the Cultural Arts Center, 518 S. Fountain St., or by calling 651-2265.
A Christmas Music Variety show will be at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at The Venue in Cape Girardeau. The event will feature Steve Hornbeak and the Mainstreet Players, with vocalist and Miss Illinois 2007 Ashley Hatfield and special guest Eli Tellor. Darrell Hannahs, Danny Tetley, Rich Fabec and Danny Weaver also will perform. Dinner and show is $25. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. General admission is $10. Tickets are available at The Venue and Kiki's Coffee House.
We Are Pioneers World Tour 2013-2014, featuring The Band Perry, will be presented Feb. 21 at the Show Me Center. The country-music act, composed of siblings Neil, Kimberly and Reid Perry, will be joined on the Cape Girardeau stage by Easton Corbin and Lindsay Ell.
