SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Sikeston Depot Museum will accept art for the 25th annual Bootheel Regional Judged Art Show from 1 to 4 p.m. March 29 and 2 to 6 p.m. March 30 at the Depot Museum. Artists 18 and older living within 75 miles of Sikeston may submit original, appropriately framed art, wired for hanging, measuring no more than a total of 48 inches in any direction. Oils must be completely dry. Pastels, watercolors and graphics must be under glass or acrylic. Art will hang from April 2 to June 28. For more information, contact the Depot Museum at 573-481-9967.

State legislators receive children's artwork

Selected artwork from the Children's Arts Festival 2008 at the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri were presented to Missouri state senators and representatives at the Missouri Citizens for the Arts Citizens' Day on Feb. 11. The following students' art was presented to the legislators to hang in their offices for the coming year: Ashlee Long, eighth grade, of Meadow Heights High School to Sen. Jason Crowell; Ameryn Rector, third grade, of Meadow Heights Elementary to Rep. Shelley Keeney; Elizabeth Orr, fourth grade, of Alma Schrader Elementay to Rep. Clint Tracey; Blake Hennemann, fourth grade, of St. Vincent Elementary to Rep. Steven Tilley; Courtney Bergmann, seventh grade, of Immanuel Lutheran to Rep. Scott Lipke; Nycole Born, sixth grade, of Bloomfield Elementary to Sen. Bob Mayer; Trent Stafford, seventh grade, of Puxico Junior High to Rep. Billy Pat Wright; Jade Rampley, seventh grade, of Kelly Elementary to Rep. Ellen Brandom.
