Southeast Missouri State University engineering professor Peter Chanthanakone will exhibit travel photographs in the Crisp Museum's "Peter Chanthanakone: Transition Spaces Series 10.3," a series of shows displayed in the walkway of the museum on the Southeast Missouri State University River Campus. The exhibit starts today. An opening reception will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 10. Chanthanakone will speak at 5 p.m.
The 15th annual "Sounds of the Season" holiday concert will be at Cape Bible Chapel at 2 p.m. Sunday. The show includes a variety of holiday classics performed under the direction of Mike Dumey. Performers from the Academy of DanceArts, under the direction of Kara Skelton, also will entertain. The show benefits Southeast Hospital's cancer patients and programs. Tickets are available for a suggested $5 donation per person at the door or by calling 986-6623.
Coles Whalen, a Colorado singer living in Nashville, Tenn., will sing at 7 p.m. Sunday as part of the Underberg House Concert series. Call 334-7692 for reservations.
"The Art of the Brick" by artist Nathan Sawaya, who uses toy building blocks in his art, will open Dec. 10 in the Crisp Museum at Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus. The public is invited to an opening reception that day from 4 to 8 p.m. The exhibit will remain on display through Feb. 20.
