University Players set cabaret today

The Southeast Missouri State University student theater group University Players presents its third annual Christmas Cabaret at 7 p.m. today at Cup 'N' Cork. The students will perform holiday themed skits, scenes and songs. Tickets are $25 for the public and $20 for Southeast students, faculty or staff. Ticket price includes a meal, dessert and hot spiced wine. Call 919-608-8690 for reservations.

Annual hospital art show needs entries

The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri is now accepting art for the 15th annual Art for the Health of It exhibition in Southeast Missouri Hospital. The yearly exhibit admits local art to be displayed in waiting rooms, hallways and other spaces in the hospital. The show is open to all area artists 18 and older, living within 175 miles of Cape Girardeau. Entries must be original, two-dimensional work in any medium and never exhibited at the hospital or created in a workshop or class. Works must be small than 48 inches by 48 inches including frame and must be turned in by Feb. 9 at the arts council. More information can be found at www.capearts.org.

ST. LOUIS -- Olympic hopefuls dot the cast of Smucker's Stars on Ice, to be performed at 7:30 p.m. May 7 at the Scottrade Center. Tickets are $25 and benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
