Cult classic on big screen at Pitter's

Pitter's Cafe and Lounge, 813 Broadway in Cape Girardeau, will present "Santa Claus Conquers the Martians" at 9 p.m. Tuesday. The showing of the 1964 cult classic will be free to the public and will be on the big screen. There will be drink specials and bonus Christmas music after the movie. Pitter's shows the movie every year on the winter solstice.

Theater group holds auditions for 'Oliver!'

SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Sikeston Little Theatre will be conducting auditions for its production of the musical "Oliver!" Auditions for youths in fourth to 12th grade will be at 2 p.m. Sunday and at 6 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Adult auditions will be at 3 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday. Adults of all ages are needed. Auditions will be in the Albritton-Mayer Cultural Center in Sikeston. Dennis Bohannon will direct the play. Performances will be March 3 to 6 and March 11 to 13.
