Underbergs hold house concert

Students perform in 'Blood Wedding'

Students in the Department of Theater and Dance will produce "Blood Wedding," a tragedy about a woman in an arranged marriage and a lover who steals her away before the wedding. The townspeople follow them into the darkness of a semimythical rural Spanish forest. This adult play incorporates dance and stage combat. "Blood Wedding" will run at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to Nov. 13 and again at 2 p.m. Nov. 14. Cape Girardeau Roller Girls derby match set

The Cape Girardeau Roller Girls will debut two teams in its first intraleague scrimmage, "The Capetown Smack Down." The Mississippi Mavens will take on the Broadway Brawlers Nov. 12 with halftime and after party entertainment by The Haddonfields, a pop-punk band from St. Louis. Admission is $6. Doors open at 6 p.m.; derby starts at 7, after party at 9.

Reception for local author at museum

The Cape River Heritage Museum will stay open late today to host an author's signing with Tom Neumeyer. The Cape Girardeau photographer will be signing and selling copies of his coffee table book, "Cape Girardeau: Then and Now," from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the museum.
