Southeast dance concert begins Nov. 10

The Southeast Missouri State University Department of Theatre and Dance will present its annual Fall Dance Concert under a new name, Dance-apalooza, Nov. 10-11 and 17-18 at Rose Theatre.

Choreography by department faculty and students will be showcased, along with pieces from guest choreographers Stephen Stone and Philip Edgecombe. Featured dances will range from jazz and ballet to hip hop and traditional.

KRCU to air new series, 'Electrons and Enlightenment'

Southeast Public Radio, 90.9 FM KRCU, will being airing a five-part series called "Electrons and Enlightenment" starting at 9 a.m. Sunday. The series explores the conflict between science and religion with conversations with the world's leading figures in the debate.

University choir presents fall concert

The Southeast Missouri State University Choir and Cantus Choralis will perform its fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Old St. Vincent's Church in downtown Cape Girardeau.

The concert will feature performances of Marian texts from the Renaissance through the late 20th century as well as works by Jean-Phillipe Rameau, John Rutter and Eric Whitacre. For more information call 651-2265.

Fund-raiser this weekend to benefit theater and dance

Long-view, the historical Cape Girardeau home owned by Marge Thompson, will host a fundraiser from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday to benefit the Southeast Missouri State University Players. The University Players, made of university theater student will conduct guided tours for the home to raise money for university development and the performing arts.

Global Cafe unveils weekly entertainment this week

Global Cafe will host entertainment every Friday night starting tonight at 8 p.m. by the Steppin Out band. The band features music from several genres and time periods.
