Violinist featured at Sundays at Three

Violinist David Halen, the concertmaster of the St. Louis Symphony, will perform at Southeast Missouri State University's Sundays at Three series at 3 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Shuck Music Recital Hall at Southeast's River Campus. Alla Voskoboynikova, an associate teaching professor of music and director of keyboard studies at the University of Missouri-St. Louis, also will perform. 'Liturgy and Litany' to be performed Dec. 10

"Liturgy and Litany," featuring selections by Richard Strauss, George Frederick Handel, Ralph Vaughan Williams and Johann Sebastian Bach, among others, will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Bedell Performance Hall at Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus. Performing the works will be the Southeast Wind Symphony and the Jackson Senior High School Wind Symphony. Tickets are available at the River Campus box office in the Cultural Arts Center, 518 S. Double Fret plays chamber music show

Double Fret, a duo composed of guitarist Patrick Rafferty and oboist Laura Guyer Ross, will present a Chamber Music Concert at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 11 at the Shuck Music Recital Hall at Southeast's River Campus. They are adjunct faculty members in the Department of Music at Southeast Missouri State University. The concert will feature solo works for the classical guitar and their own arrangements for guitar and oboe. Tickets may be bought through the River Campus box office in the Cultural Arts Center, 518 S. Fountain St., from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays or by calling 651-2265. The 2013-2014 Southeast Missouri State University River Campus Touring Series will continue with "The Sound of Christmas Featuring Elisabeth von Trapp," scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Bedell Performance Hall at Southeast's River Campus.
