Beginning Jan. 1, the shuttle service for touring, symphony and special events at the Southeast Missouri State University, which has been provided from the Hutson's Fine Furniture parking lot, will be discontinued. A parking lot at the newly completed River Campus Center at the corner of Lorimier and Morgan Oak streets is available for patrons. A lot directly across Morgan Oak Street from the main River Campus lot also is available.
Children may audition soon for a role in the upcoming Rodgers and Hammerstein musical "The King and I," to be performed next spring at Southeast Missouri State University's River Campus. Tryouts will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Dec. 2 in the Rust Flexible Theatre at the River Campus. Callbacks will be the same day from 6 to 10 p.m. Children age 6 through eighth grade can vie for the roles of the king's children. In addition, two boys, age 11 and 13, will be chosen to fill the roles of Louis, Anna's son, and Prince Chulalongkorn, the king's heir. Those participating must be in the audition room by 3:45 p.m. Rehearsals for the production will begin Jan. 12 and will be from 6 to 10 p.m. weekdays and from noon to 7 p.m. Sundays.
