The 36th Annual Christmas Arts and Crafts Extravaganza. The event will feature over 300 crafters at the Osage Community Centre and the Show Me Center.

The Southeast Missouri State University Department of Music will host its first annual Big Band Dance from 7 to 10 p.m. Nov. 17 in the University Center Ballroom.

SIKESTON, Mo. -- The Sikeston Little Theater will host auditions for its upcoming production of "The Wizard of Oz" starting Thursday. Auditions for adults will take place at 7 p.m. Thursday; again at 7 p.m. Nov. 17; 3 to 4:40 p.m. Nov. 18 and 19. Children's auditions will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. Nov. 18 and 19.
Children auditioning as munchkins can be no more that 4 feet 8 inches tall. Performances will take place in February.
ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Art Museum will open its "Plains Indian Beadwork fro the Donald Danforth Jr. Collection" on Nov. 17.
The collection features more than 30 works including pipe and saddle bags, moccasins and clothing created in the 19th century by the Apache, Blackfeet, Cheyenne, Crow, Kiowa and Lakota nations.

A Missouri Arts Council grant workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to noon at the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, located at 32 N. Main St.
Participants will learn about grant writing guidelines, application forms and procedures from MAC staff. The workshop is free, but reservations are required.

The Missouri Department of Conservation's Conservation Campus Nature Center in Cape County Park North is hosting an exhibit of wildlife art by Mark Raithel throughout November.
Raithel has created work for Missouri Conservationist magazine and other art depicting Missouri's natural attractions. Raithel will be at the Conservation Campus from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Nov. 17.
