Author to read, sign books at Southeast
Gary Gildner, author of 20 books, will read from his work and sign books at 7 p.m. Tuesday in Glenn Auditorium at Dempster Hall. The event is free and open to the public. Gildner is a multi-time prize winner for writing, garnering accolades such as two National Endowment for the Arts Fellowships, the Top Ten University Press Book of the Year Award and the National Magazine Award for Fiction.
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Former White House chief of staff Andrew Card Jr. will visit Southern Illinois University Carbondale Tuesday as part of a fall lecture series sponsored by the Paul Simon Public Policy Institute. The event will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Shryock Auditorium and is free and open to the public.
CARBONDALE, Ill. -- Matthew Shackleton has been named the interim director at Southern Illinois University Carbondale's Shryock Auditorium, a performing arts facility. Shackleton has four years' experience at Shryock, the last year spent as assistant director.
The Sundays at Three chamber music series will perform a program featuring Mark Sparks, principal flutist for the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, at 3 p.m. Oct. 15 in Old St. Vincent's Church.
