Concert planned at local church

Fellowship Baptist Church will host The Sowell Family Pickers from Hempstead, Texas, from 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the church, 430 Koch Ave. in Cape Girardeau. The family will perform bluegrass and gospel music presented in a fun and friendly atmosphere. The event is free and open to the public. For more information, call (573) 339-1733.

'Mamma Mia' to visit River Campus

A touring production of "Mamma Mia" will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday in the Bedell Performance Hall at the River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau. Tickets for the show cost either $39 or $45 and are available for purchase at the River Campus box office, by calling (573) 651-2265 or at www.RiverCampus.org. The show contains adult content and language.

Arts Council to host Red Light Night

The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri will host the second Red Light Night of this season at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Arts Council, 16 N. Spanish St. in Cape Girardeau. The topic will be "The Word Made Sight" and will feature the Rev. Robert Towner, an Episcopal priest who has retired after 40 years as a church employee and 10 years as an adjunct teacher at Southeast Missouri State University in the Department of Philosophy, Religion and Political Science.

Central alumni play auditions open

Cape Girardeau Central High School alumni and former staff are invited to apply for actor and technical staff positions for "The Actor's Nightmare," set to run Jan. 27 and 28.
