The deadline for the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri's Regional Juried Exhibition has been extended to Sunday. Artists are encouraged to submit works that interpret any aspect of Southeast Missouri, as well as its bordering states. Work must interpret the people, places or things that are representational of the five-state region. Entries cost $30 for nonmembers and $25 for members for up to three entries. The River City Players will hold auditions for the November Follies at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Captain's Quarters at Port Cape Girardeau, 19 N. Water St. in Cape Girardeau. This year's follies will have a patriotic theme, but the acts/talents do not have to be of a patriotic theme. Community members are encouraged to come out and share their talent, be it singing, magic, comedy, poetry, dancing, juggling, acting, playing a musical instrument or any other talent they may have. Rehearsals will be minimal; the show dates are Nov. 3, 4, 5 and 6.

Southeast Missouri State University students and faculty will perform a free concert at 7 p.m. Oct. 21 in the River Campus Museum at the River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau. The concert will consist of performances of solo and chamber compositions written or inspired by Latin-American composers and themes in conjunction with the "Estamos Aqu'" (We Are Here) exhibition.
The seventh annual VintageNOW fashion show will begin at 6 p.m. Oct. 22 at the Osage Centre, 1625 N. Kingshighway in Cape Girardeau. The fashion show's mission is to help those who struggle with domestic violence. All net proceeds benefit the Safe House for Women. This year's event will feature a 1940s patriotic USO theme.
