The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri and Southeast Missouri Hospital are now accepting entries for their "Art for the Health of It" juried competition and exhibit. The contest is open to all artists 18 and older living within a 175-mile radius of Cape Girardeau and must be original, two dimensional works not previously displayed at the hospital or created in a workshop. FARMINGTON, Mo. -- Farmington will play host to the "Your Choice" Battle of the Bands on Feb. 17 and 18 at 7 p.m. at the Farmington Centene Center. The goal of the event is to raise teen awareness of how to live safe and healthy lives of sexual involvement. Fourteen punk/screamo bands from throughout Southeast Missouri will be featured at the two-day event, along with various health departments and civic organizations.
