The Southeast Missouri State University Department of Music will present Mozart's comic masterpiece "Così fan Tutte" at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 21 and 3 p.m. Jan. 22 in the Bedell Performance Hall at the River Campus. "Così fan Tutte" was first performed in 1790. It is a farcical show about fidelity in the face of trickery. The opera is part of the Southeast Student Ensembles Series and will feature a student cast along with faculty member Dr. Tim Schmidt. It will be presented in English and will be accompanied by a chamber orchestra of faculty, students and community members conducted by Dr. Steve Hendricks. Southeast Missouri State University Department of Music faculty members Paul Thompson, flute, and Matt Yount, piano, will present a recital at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 24 in the Shuck Music Recital Hall at the River Campus. Composers in the program will include Sammartini, Dave Heath, Jolivet, Elgar and Martinu. Additionally, Thompson will present a work for flute and CD by Southeast composer Dr. Robert Fruehwald. The public is invited to participate in a discussion by individuals affected by homelessness in the Cape Girardeau area tomorrow at the Arts Council of Southeast Missouri, 32 N. Main St., from 1 to 3 p.m. Part of the council's January Saturday Social, the talk accompanies an exhibit titled "Opening Doors to the Homeless."
