Old Town Cape to kick off Tunes at Twilight

Old Town Cape will begin its spring Tunes at Twilight series at 7 p.m. May 11 with the Leslie Dysinger Band. The outdoor concert series is held Friday nights at the Common Pleas Courthouse gazebo in Cape Girardeau. In case of rain, the concerts will move indoors to Rose Theatre at Southeast Missouri State University. New radio show will challenge contestants

KRCU will bring listeners "Ask Me Another," beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday. This new show from NPR, hosted by comedian Ophira Eisenberg, will challenge contestants with an hour of puzzles, word games and trivia. The shows music will be provided by Jonathan Coulton. The 13-part series will air at 11 a.m. on Saturdays on 90.9 and 88.9 FM.

Conservation center hosting demonstration

The Conservation Nature Center in Cape Girardeau will demonstrate how to turn trash into treasure from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Those wishing to attend can bring their old mismatched or chipped glass drinking tumblers to the center. There they will learn how to turn them into glass towers to be used as candleholders. The class is for ages 16 and older. Registration is required. To register, call 290-5218.

Primo Vino to host sampling of local beer

John A. Huber Brewing Co., of Fruitland will provide samples of its Hubrew Blonde Ale at Primo Vino in Cape Girardeau. The sampling will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.

Cape student performing ‘Annie'

Central Junior High School will present the Broadway musical "Annie" at 7 p.m. tonight and tomorrow. The show, which opened Thursday, is performed by students in Mike Dumey's stage choir class. It will take place in the junior high auditorium. Tickets are $8 for students and $10 for general admission.
