Drop-in Christmas concert scheduled

A holiday celebration to raise money for the Hunger Project and FISH will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. Dec. 2 at Christ Episcopal Church, 101 N. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau. Six musical ensembles representing area churches, the university and local musicians will perform. Donations of money or canned goods will be accepted.

Immaculate Conception to host Christmas concert

Immaculate Conception Church will hold its annual Christmas concert featuring the Heartland Pops Orchestra and Chorus, Adult Choir, Choristers and Bells of Joy Ringers at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at the church, 208 S. Hope St. in Jackson. Mary-Ann Maloney of KFVS12 will be the guest narrator for the telling of the Nativity story. Wind Symphony concert planned

"The Holidays: Music for the Season" will be presented by the Wind Symphony at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 6 in the Bedell Performance Hall at the River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau. Great Russian Nutcracker coming

The Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker will be performed at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 in the Bedell Performance Hall at the River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau. Tickets for the event will cost $30.50, $39.50, $50.50 or $70.50, depending on seat location. Tickets may be purchased at nutcracker.com.

Chris Young to play at Show Me Center

Country-music artist Chris Young will perform with special guests Dustin Lynch and Cassadee Pope at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 8 at the Show Me Center, 1333 N. Sprigg St. in Cape Girardeau. The performance is a part of Young's I'm Comin' Over Tour. Free holiday percussion concerts will be held at 10:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Dec. 10 in the Bedell Performance Hall at the River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau.

Crossroads to host Christmas concert

Jackson Crossroads Church will host a Christmas Dream Concert at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 10 and 11 at the church, 4400 E. Jackson Blvd. in Jackson. The contemporary Christmas concert will feature favorite songs, synchronized lights, a hot cocoa bar and a Christmas photo booth. The event is free and open to all.
