"This show is important for students because it is an intimate and focused show and a great opportunity to curate our own art. The show is accessible to the student body, but is also in a public place to give students a secondary audience outside of their peers," said Kennedy, who is Art Guild president. "The casual setting allows for discussion between the artists and the audience. This show gives students experience that is valuable for building a resume and being more professional artists."

The guild is an organization aimed at professionally minded art students who wish to maximize their potential in their university and community environment. The purpose of the organization is to provide an environment of professionalism to art students who are looking to further their careers. In addition to Kennedy, guild officers are Thomas Hall, vice president; Heather Gillock, secretary; and Cassie Krigbaum, treasurer. Joni Hand, professor of art, is faculty adviser.
