Urgent bulletin for the celebrity-obsessed - Hollywood is coming to Cape Girardeau.
For three days in December or January, a partial cast and crew will be in the city filming scenes for the upcoming film "Killshot," based on an Elmore Leonard book set partially in Cape.
Unfortunately for the "Lord of the Rings" devotees, Viggo Mortensen's (Aragorn) name has been dropped from the names being considered for the male lead. But fans of The Punisher's vigilante justice will be glad to know that Thomas Jane, who played the lead in the movie adaptation of the comic book, has been cast in Aragorn's stead.
Also starring in the film will be the ageless Diane Lane, Mickey Rourke (who delivered a standout performance as Martv in "Sin City") and pop star Justin Timberlake. Big-shot director John Madden, who won an Academy Award for "Shakespeare in Love," will sit in the almighty creative throne.
Civic leaders are seeing dollar signs, with estimates pointing to about $100,000 a day being generated from the filming. And keep an eye peeled -local extras may be needed.
