'Annie' on the South Lawn?
Press Release Suggests Obama Will Put On Musical
Could this be Hillary Clinton, President Obama and Joe Biden in a dress rehearsal for Annie?
I continued reading the press release. It said that a news conference was being held that very day at 11am in Chicago "to call attention to the unprecedented and underreported homosexual political agenda coming out of the White House." The underreporting part made sense to me. That's probably why the big-bad-liberal-media was being so vague about how Hillary broke her elbow. But in fairness, if they actually reported that Hillary fell down and went boom while practicing the choreography, it would ruin the surprise. Obama does not like his surprises ruined. He gets testy. The big-bad-liberal-media knows that. Too bad our paper didn't get the media release until after noon on the day of the press conference. It's kind of tough to attend an event that has already happened. Perhaps, if we'd gotten the notice the day prior, I could have driven to Chicago or perhaps talked our newspaper's Chairman of the Board into flying me up there on the company's plane. Sure, it's one of those little six-seater planes, and I hate flying in small planes and I don't even work in the newsroom, but rather just write a blog for the website for fun, but this sounded like the type of breaking news that wins Pulitzer Prizes or at least makes the cover of People. Well, it could make the cover of People as long as Jon and Kate aren't bickering about something. Damn them and their brood! But alas, my opportunity for a Pulitzer or the cover of People was derailed by the tardiness of the Coral Ridge Ministries public relations department. I guess there's no point in crying over spilt milk. I read on. The release quoted Robert Knight, the Coral Ridge Ministries' "Washington, D.C., Correspondent" as saying that "Americans need to know about this full-throated attack by the Obama Administration and its congressional allies on the moral and social order, from marriage to the military to the nation's schools." Before I comment on that little bit of rhetoric, let me digress for a moment. If your church is so big that it has a "Washington, D.C., Correspondent," then it is in my opinion, too big. What's next for a church of that size? Applying for statehood? Sending missionaries to the moon? Anyhow, I found Mr. Knight's choice of words very interesting. "Full-throated attack" is an unusual phrase. It often means "having or producing a full, deep, or rich sound." This would make sense if Obama is indeed staging a musical on the south lawn of the White House. If I believe everything that the big-bad-liberal-media say, Obama has pipes that can make angels cry. However, I've heard that Biden is a really lousy singer. Reputedly, his version of "I Wonder What the King Is Doing Tonight" from Camelot could be a viewed as a "full-throated attack." One could call it a weapon of mass distraction. Or considering the subject matter, perhaps Knight actually meant to use a different adverb such as "deep-throated?" People do get misquoted all the time. Even by their organizations own public relations department. Knight is then quoted as saying "the media have been utterly irresponsible by ignoring these crucial issues or presenting only one side -- the pro-homosexual view." Robert Knight must really dislike show tunes. He probably thinks The White House Theatrical Company should do some traditional Shakespeare or perhaps a cheery modern play like "Death of a Salesman." Knight further chastised the media to "stop functioning as giddy cheerleaders for the gay agenda." I have to admit, that Knight is right. Cheerleading is dangerous, even more so when performed under the influence of giddiness. It should be left to trained athletes and not those schmucks who are in the big-bad-liberal-media. They could hurt themselves. They might even break their elbow. --- ~ Thanks to RK for forwarding me the press release. --- ~The headscratching continues. My Google stats soared from 4310 last week all the way up to 15,100. My Yahoo searches more than doubled from 7930 to 16,200. And I didn't do a damn thing except write 4 blogs. Go figure. ~My cat's Twitter account is up to 28 followers. Her Twitter account is patchthecat.
