The Ramblewoood Garden Club celebrated Arbor Day on April 6 this year with Clippard Elementary School second grade students by planting an Arborvitae (Thuga) tree as a foundation planting. The garden club also gifted two books, "The Hidden Life of Trees" by Peter Wohlleben and "Tree Full of Wonder" by Anna Smithers to the school library. Principal Amy Emmenderfer accepted the books on behalf of the students. The students gave the garden club decorated pages telling how each like trees and also, hand-written thank you notes. Several students were asked to read their page to the group. The club's Arbor Day chairwoman, Nadine Davis, spoke on why Arbor Day is a special day to celebrate. Shown above are garden club members Nadine Davis, Edna Ruth Fischer, Anne Foust, Bonnie Coy-Svenson, Helen Towner and Linda Schild, with the second grade students, their teachers, Dawn Duer and Charity Owens, principal Emmenderfer, and the loyal and well behaved school dog, Skee.
