Never be afraid to start your journey, no matter how long it seems at the beginning.
Hello and welcome to my blog. I will make every effort to touch on subjects that will help you Iin your life. I do public speaking so expect a lot of motivational material. Spiritual direction is another avenue that I participate in so this blog will contain much of the spiritual. It's amazing how the small, seemingly insignificant, happenings in our lives are actually important sign posts to guide us. I will help you understand them. Please comment here or you can email me.
I will begin my blog today talking about journeys. The word journey is interesting, mysterious and inviting, Right? Everybody is on a journey of some kind. There are all kinds of ups and downs on a trip. Some good, some bad. However, regardless of what happens; it occurs for a reason. Scripture tells us that "All things work for the good for those who love God and are called to his purpose."
A journey I embarked on a few years ago was to finish my college degree in psychology. My three children were in high-school and college.
Wow! it seemed so long. I thought I'd never finish, but every week or so, I would go over my credits and visualize receiving my diploma, taking one day at a time. Yes, I finally did finish it. I dreaded the beginning and the road seemed so long, I could have given up. It was difficult--but it finally ended and I marched across that stage feeling like I had wings. That long road was finally finished--all because I took "that first step."
What journey has been difficult for you as you put one foot in front of the other? Please comment. I would love to hear from you.
If there are particular issues you need answers to, or topics you would like me to cover in this blog, either comment or email me.
Take care and God bless.
Ellen Shuck
