When gas was $1 for eight gallons
To the editor: I was 16 and worked for Lewis Mobil in Jackson in 1941. I pumped gas 10 hours a day, seven days a week, and I got paid $12 a week. You could buy eight gallons of gas for a dollar. ROY DAVAULT, Cape Girardeau
